Stars for Paws
Stars for Paws is a Wild Tunes’ program that encourages local artists (professional musicians and singers) to soothe shelter animals by volunteering to perform in local shelters. Musicians and singers can volunteer once a month or more to play an instrument or sing for animals cared for by our shelter partners.

When first hearing about Wild Tunes' mission to provide soothing and comfort to animals through music, I was immediately drawn to the cause. To combine both my love of music and animals, it was a no brainer to join them in their mission. Beyond that I have seen first hand what music can do for animals. I have adopted two dogs from animal shelters over the years. Earlier this year my senior dog was diagnosed with canine dementia. In her later months she became extremely restless and would walk in circles around the house. When I would practice for upcoming shows she would find her way to her bed in the music room, and lay down to eventually get some much needed rest. To be able to provide a homeless animal peace at any point in their day is the least one could do.
I love working with Wild Tunes! My late grandmother was an animal lover and patron of the Houston area shelters, so WildTunes mission means a lot to me. I am an animal lover and all my pets (3 cats) have come from the Houston area shelters, so getting to use my musical talents to help spread awareness about fostering and adoptions is near and dear to my heart.
“I strive to help the BARC dogs relax and to provide a pleasant atmosphere for the dogs, kennel workers, and potential adopters.”
