The Wild Tunes Club
The Wild Tunes program is aimed at soothing shelter animals through music. The Wild Tunes Club offers a unique opportunity foradults and children to bring this musical enrichment to abandoned and neglected animals. By joining the Club, volunteers can combine their musical talent and love for animals into a routine that calms anxious shelter animals, boosts their confidence, and makes them more suitable for adoption. It is another way to make a difference in the lives of these animals, besides rescue, adoption, donation, and fostering.
As a bonus, students can earn volunteer service hours!

PROGRAM GUIDELINES
Shelter staff intervention: The program is designed to take minimal time for the shelter staff. This should be limited to standard volunteer orientation, and regular check in/check out procedures. Ideally, the volunteers will be self-sufficient and able to set up wherever staff deems it appropriate for the day.
Volunteer and Shelter Responsibility: All volunteers must undergo the respective volunteer training required by the shelter. While the intention is to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for the animals, the interactions between the volunteers and animals are the sole responsibility of the participating animal shelters and their authorized representatives.Wildtunes.org acts as a facilitator to connect shelters and volunteers but is not directly involved in overseeing the interactions.
Program Frequency: The program will work best if it is scheduled once or twice a week with a steady stream of volunteers to play music for the animals at designated times.
Safety Measures: Animal shelters are encouraged to implement appropriate safety measures to ensure the well-being of all animals and volunteers. This could include guidelines for interacting with the animals, the duration of sessions, and appropriate types of music and volume levels.
Parental/Guardian Consent: If the volunteers are minors, parental or legal guardian consent is required for their participation. Also, parental supervision is necessary during the volunteer sessions.
Support from Wild Tunes: When a shelter enrolls in the Wild Tunes program, we will provide a welcome kit with all required information to implement the program.
